Special Message
Thank you for stopping by our site.
Today there are a lot of options in terms of wholistic health. There is a paradigm shift that is moving into integration of science and indigenous knowledge, bringing us into a more open view of seeing the human experience, its cause and effects, and therefore its reason for being and suffering.
Shamanism is in integral part of atonement to our deeper aspects, to our subconsciousness, to our soul and to our understanding of our inner processes. Today the shaman is being hunted down by religious missionaries in the deep jungles and mountains of developing countries, while also through the media and medical boards in the western hemisphere. Yet, the message of the shaman is being called upon, to help re-organize and provide input in moving forward with our health, environment, and deep desire to expand consciously. The role of the modern shaman is truly in need and must be identified clearly as to not mistaken charlatans.
I have been trained to provide and continue to practice shamanic rituals, rites of passage, and techniques for self evolution, guidance and healing. The deep connection to Nature for me is shamanic. Shamanism is our connection to Nature, our own Nature, and the approach to relationships with Nature. This could be with others, animals, plants, gems, and all things micro and macro. My training took me to several tribes in the United States, including the Lakota, Navajo, Shashonee and Ononda. Also in South America with the Inkas, Shipibo, Quechua, Cofan and Siona indians. Being an indigenous european person from Basque descendants, I honor and re-awaken my cultural heritage in the shamanic sense. I have also been taught by two European modern shamans Jaky Baily and Patrick Druot that teach traditional and modern applications along with modern shaman John Milton and Jill Leigh in the United States. Continuing with Shed, we aim to master the way of the shaman in a global and modern view, making sense of today’s current needs of a modern shaman as an experienced person that can help guide life and its natural progress through sifts in consciousness, whether through personal sessions, ceremonies, workshops, speaking engagements or media productions.
Creating, cultivating and realizing sacredness and honoring that sacredness in our relationships is what I like about shamanism. The respect of the feminine and masculine energies, the respect of the directions, the sacred wheel, the deep knowledge of plants, understanding totem animals, and higher spirit guides as well as the use of ritual and ceremony to honor all of life and evolve consciously, individually and communally with the greatest respect for each other, our individuality and the greater whole, the universe, the animals, the spirits of everything!
Denak Bat Gira – as the basque say or Metakuye Oyasin! – as the Lakotas say – We are all related to all!
Some of the Ceremonies and Workshops that bring this into the incarnate reality:
INIPI – Sweat Lodge Purification Ceremony
VISION QUESTS – Nature Immersion Solo
FIRE WALKING – Walk on Fire
NARAYA CREATION DANCE – A 3 day dance that invites all creation to find your essence
SUN DANCE – The warrior’s dance
BURIAL CEREMONY – Going back to the Earth
CHANUPA CEREMONY – Sacred Pipe Ceremony
MEDICINAL PLANT CEREMONY – Awakening to plant consciousness
BREATH WORKSHOP – Breath consciousness for incarnation of spirit
SACRED SOUND WORKSHOP – The use of sound to resonate into harmony
Some of these ceremonies have the lakota name. I was directly instructed by Archie Fire Lame Deer, early before his passing and do respect the Lakota traditions. On the otherhand, Archie was very clear in instructing us to follow our dream, to re-awaken our inner Celtic tradition and to try to understand and read the land.
Coming from Basque and Celtic traditions, taking another culture’s sacred ways seemed strange to begin with. On th other hand, learning and sharing from other cultures makes perfect sense. In that way, I respect Chief Arval Looking Horse’s clear message on March 8 & 9 of 2003 http://www.geocities.com/wahohwahpe/ban1.html which clearly forbids, to his opinion and the elders, non-native americans to participate or hold ceremonies in their styles.
Before 2003, when I was initiated to pour water as they say for Sweat lodge ceremony, I began to have many dreams. One was of a different shaped sweat lodge, based on the 5 elements, there would be a decohedron shaped lodge with a spiral. Coincidently, my cousin had the same dream the same night. We both shared our dreams the next morning and were stunned to find the same design and pattern. We both went to different shamans and medicine elders who all blessed this design and said, this is for you to hold!
For all the ceremonies I hold, I wait to have the dream. The dream of the pipe has not come to me, and so, even though I have participated and know the rituals, I do not partake in this ceremony. I truly go by the spiritual guidance that has been given to me from my spirit guides, either through dream or vision, meditation of vision quest etc… I stay true to that!
On the other hand, I believe that the sweat lodge is a unified practice shared by all people around the world, so is the vision quest, and sacred dance. Using your own language makes sense, and that the sacred songs of the Lakotas should be sung by the Lakotas. I seek inspired songs of my own or songs from the basque and celtic roots. Sometimes, I use songs from the Naraya ( a dance for all people) that have been permitted!
This is my way. I encourage your way to join in all ways!
